Windows 7 Phone in Nokia, Symbian, but not abandoned

After being circulated for several weeks is now official, Nokia will introduce the software into its Windows 7 Phone intelligent terminals, the so-called smartphones.

However, contrary to what many journalists who say they oversimplify, Nokia Symbian does not abandon its proprietary software current. Symbian will still be present in models of entry and midrange. By cons, all new smartphones will be under the Microsoft's mobile software.

Also note, this partnership is deeper than it seems and is not a Simple software delivery. Indeed, Nokia will provide, for example, Microsoft's excellent and highly acclaimed navigation system Ovi Maps, which will complement the services of the U.S. map. Nokia is also the owner of the world's No. 1 manufacturer of maps, Navteq. On the other hand, Nokia will integrate natively Bing or the advertising for Microsoft, adCenter, in his motives.
Microsoft sees this partnership as a way to boost the image of Windows 7 Phone knows that sales mixed, models from Samsung, LG and HTC are selling well, but nothing more. There, in dealing with the leader global reputation for quality hardware, things should improve significantly.

far banked on Nokia Symbian ^ 3 released with the N8, 3 months ago, and development partnership with Intel Meego. Meego become an Open Source project.

Nokia should respond to the erosion of its market share and especially of its profits. Though still No. 1 in the world of telephony with almost one third of the world market (32.4% market share in 2010) and World No. 1 on smartphones (46% to 37 in 2010), the Finnish giant will catch up to Android smartphones by (Samsung, HTC, Motorola, ...), Apple (iPhone) and RIM (Blackberry).

This should eventually lead according to analysts, the creation of two independent entities managing products: a division feature phones (mobile base) and a division smartphones. Anyway budgets for R & D will be reduced astronomical Nokia and Symbian to dedicated units should be reduced.
